Bangkok 5D4N Family Trip: Day 2

Couldn't find my Bangkok photo folder just now wthiamsoblur

In the heart of Bangkok, or along highways, you can easily spot these flying haywires like very furry-hairs.
Gotta say that the government is willing to spend more on
tourism development (like public transport and toilets)
rather than city development.
It'd take a lot alot of $$ to clear these wires to underground pipes.
Better leave it then.

Went to buy a local SIM card at nearby 7-11,
whilst waiting for aunt outside, spotted this stall selling a local delicacy.
Bought and tasted, the orange flake-like thingy are dried salted shrimps(虾米) , a lil spicy,
coated with thick cream (not fresh cream), with crispy outer layer like Chinese New Year Kueh-kah-pek.
Didn't really like it, weird combination but worth trying :O

So aunt scraped out the cream and fillings, munched away the crispy part.

Took a cab and reached Chatuchak Market, which is only opened during weekends.
Aunt arranged our schedule so perfectly so I wouldn't miss this super awesome market!

The so-called world's largest weekend market!

Ceramics / clothes / accessories / food and drink / leather / furniture / pets
ALL SORTS YOU CAN FIND IT HERE

Cheap and good quality, believe it or not!
Imagine the Petaling Street (茨厂街)at KL city being magnified by 100 times.
I'm seriously not exaggerating.

I lost control at pet section T_____T

All sorts of fishes, bunnies, squirrels, hamsters, sugar glider....

ULTIMATE CUTENESS T____T

I used to have this magic markers- You colour a square in yellow, then with another white pen, the colour changes probably to red (as shown above)

Super friendly artist, shy nice talented guy.
I'd buy that box of magic markers if I had more money with me :(

Had lunch at a random stall, Sun was out :O

 1. Sour glass noodle with fish essence - Thai dishes esp love fish essence idky O_O but the sour taste is indeed a breeze to ease the uneasiness from walking too much.

2. Fried Pad-Thai - Taste sweet, still fancy Char-Kuey-Teow with salt instead of sugar.

3. Fried Rice - I LOVE THAI RICE. The texture emmm, and the egg.

4. Thai people love to put fresh black pepper in their dishes, doesn't taste spicy tho, can only taste it truly with a bigger bunch of it in your mouth.

Handiwork and Craft shops.

I have no resistance towards these stuffs, mom took some time to shoo me away from that street haha.

One thing I really like about Bangkok is that there're actually a lot of fresh juices stalls available along wherever you go.
They don't add sugar into your drink, so it really tastes very refreshing,
especially after having a long walk under the hot sun.

Like orange / passion fruit / strawberry juices are among the common choices :)

High calory yet taste-like-heaven quill eggs are being sold as if they come free!

Lovely things I spotted along the tour.

Could barely feel my toes after a whole evening at Chatuchak Market.
KC's Place (the hotel) provides to-room massage service.
200 Baht per person, which is around RM 20.

Persuaded by aunt and uncle, tried foot massage for the first time ORZ.
Lucky me, my first was by a super pretty girl!
Seriously like an actress from Thai movie, polite, and POWERFUL.

I had a few bruises after the massage haha :{

Mom tried this before during the trip with her college mates 20 years back.
The colourings of this local delicacy were shocking
but surprisingly they don't taste sweet, like ang-ku-kueh,
outer layer is like jelly, with bean paste.

Attended dinner with Mom's childhood friend (青梅竹马)at a high class restaurant
along with his family and two guests

Seafood Market Restaurant

Was astonished at first, with the lightings, and the price /___\

Its concept is a new thing to me, like, you get a shopping assistant who helps you with the trolley,
and you need to choose your own ingredient,
including garlic / onions etc.

Weigh it at the cashier, exactly like you're in a mall instead of a restaurant.

Then you get to choose the cooking method: Char-broiled / steam / stir-fried etc.

Chit-chatting with adults isn't really my thing, especially with adults from different backgrounds -__-
Spent quite some time walking around to look at the ingredients.
Sad to see a seafood restaurant selling not fresh fishes and prawns.
It's more like you're eating the price tag instead of the food itself.

Spotted coconut-like strawberry, big pumpkin that would fit Cinderella,
don't-know-chilled-for-how-long-alaska-king-crab.

Don't know since when I like to walk and browse around in the wine department.
I no fancy alcohol but I simply like walking in the air of moist grapes.
Spotted unusual carton packing of rice wine
and Chinese cooking wine  -  Shao Xing Wine(绍兴酒),
who drinks it anyway O___O

The dishes were disappointing, I tried talking to that Uncle's daughters
ended kinda awkward like a whole Q&A session, or an interview.
Nidda brush up my social skills haihhh.

Oh and I dressed up awkwardly awkward  that night

Facebook status update:

Attended to a dinner with mom's 青梅竹马 in T-shirt and jeans
when other girls were wearing dresses.
Didn't expect it to be at a high class restaurant orz -__-
#superpaisei is the word
